TomTom now offers SatNav Personified by Stephen Fry...After topping a recent poll of the people we’d most like to offer a lift to, Stephen Fry is now somewhat unsurprisingly available on TomTom.The widely loved, living legend who’s something of multi-media marvel, has lent his vocal skills to the motoring tool which ranked highly in Stephen Fry’s top 100 greatest gadgets.
Derby, UK (Carbag.co.uk News) 13th January 2012 Now, for less than eight pounds, fans can buy the app and the many delights promised by the TomTom website and what’s more, you can even try before you buy and enjoy some golden examples of his direction, such as "Now then, after 500 yards you have reached your destination. Congratulations. I think I may be falling in love with you"! Locutio Voice Technologies who created the app, seemingly injected every last available quip and quirk into the final product and along with the usual traffic tools, the remote control, speech recognition and advanced lane guidance system for navigation throughout Europe, the US and even Canada are strong selling points indeed. The IQ route predictor was particularly impressive however, helpfully accounting for everyday en-route hassles which can commonly encumber your journey time; just imagine avoiding all those unforeseen ‘school’s out’ obstructions or annual attractions which can see many a road shut down... London Parade ring any (alarm) bells? Previous TomTom voices include real stage and screen heavyweights such as Brian Blessed, fictional favourites like Darth Vader and even animated heroes such as Dora the Explorer; surely Mr. Fry’s idiosyncratic vernacular will prove every bit as successful as any of those popular predecessors. |
