Vince CableMidlands lands £400m Investment with Jaguar Land Rover Engine Plant- in what’s been widely perceived as a positive step toward UK growth and economic balance, the Government have announced the opening of a £360m engine manufacture plant in the Midlands.

Derby, UK (Carbag.co.uk News) 11th January 2012, whilst visiting the Solihull site to mark the event, Vince Cable revealed proposals for a £10m investment into a two year plan to build the Jaguar Land Rover site, which is expected to create around 2000 jobs at the i54 business park in Wolverhampton. After last year’s reversal of three plant closures throughout Merseyside and the Midlands, it seems that fresh interest from Russia and China has lead to an unprecedented turn of fortune for an outfit which, in 2008, was practically on the brink of closure.

Jaguar Land Rover have revealed the purpose of the plant, as well as plans of their forthcoming high performance, 4 cylinder engines, which confidently promise refinery alongside reduced carbon emissions. Now, in 2012, the plant is all but built and ready to roll out the new range of diesel and petrol engines however, such investments can only help heal the scars of the recent recession and bring revitalised hope to the UK and to the motoring industry as a whole.

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg commented on the news...

“It means over 700 new jobs for local people, an investment of over £300 million in the West Midlands, and recognition of the expertise in the British workforce and manufacturing sector.”

Jaguar Land Rover have also announced ongoing investments of £7.5b across a five year period, illustrating the sheer scale of commitment and dedication into this latest lease of life for what is ultimately a legendary and dearly loved brand. The remaining question for many is of course, just what has ignited and spurred this fresh interest from the Soviet and Asian marketplace; whatever it is, you can rest assured that it will be relentlessly optimised and maximised.
