Dome Zero
The Dome Zero two door prototype sports car was revealed to the world during the 48th Geneva International Autoshow in 1978. Minory Hayashi started the project in 1975, working for the Dome Company. Its aim was the production of small volume sports cars and he would use his experience as a past racing career. Work on the prototype was completed late 1977, when Hayashi had the idea of competing in 24 hours Le Mans. The prototype failed to achieve homologation in Japan, so Dome Zero P2 was developed especially for the international market. Failure to achieve Japanese homologation led to the development of the Dome Zero P2, a car made specifically for the international market. It was exhibited at the Chicago and Los Angeles Motor Shows. To increase the profile, a Dome Zero was created and called the RL, which was entered in 24 hour Le Mans in 1979. It failed to finish and was raced again in 1980 when it finished last.

How the weeks fly! We are presenting our fourth supercar, the Dome Zero prototype. It is not really a supercar by today's standard, But for japanese carmakers at the time it was an incredible step forward. It was not powerful, but with its 920 kg total weight it had a power-to-weight ratio closely matching famous supercars of the time.
